I got invited to give a talk and mini workshop for IMAKA at the Arctic Centre in Groningen last January, focusing on the use of artwork to communicate polar science to a wider audience. We created prints of polar landscapes, Arctic creatures and other things using a simple print technique (“frottage” or rubbing). We placed paper and string shapes with different textures under thin paper and lightly pressed a paint roller over the sheet, creating imprints. We were 20 people and created many, many prints, with some examples shown below.
