In my world fieldwork is most of all work. A lot of it. When you work in remote or faraway places you have a limited amount of time at your field site and you probably want to make most out of it. We had a short amount of time to do a lot of work in our new rainfall experiment on Svalbard. But in between you need to also enjoy being there and go on small side quests to get a feeling and understanding for the place you work in.
