The lack of daylight on Svalbard in January and the beginning of February forced me to get creative with very low shutter speeds. The resulting photos beautifully show the soft white, pinks and blues of the mountains. Placing and balancing the camera on a tripod or on the back of a snow scooter before your fingers get numb from the cold is a challenge, as is keeping your camera’s battery alive. But well worth the effort.

I failed to hold the camera still properly, hence the weird blur effect
Looking out towards Adventdalen from Varden. Headlights of cars make squiggly lines.
